The Pleasant Hill Community Church, United Church of Christ will replace its current heating and cooling systems with heat pumps connected to a geothermal system. The church is also updating its electrical fixtures and appliances to Energy Star rated ones as well as improving its wall and roof insulations.
The Pleasant Hill Community Church, UCC believes this project will not only help it fulfill its mission of being a progressive Christian church but that it will also inspire other churches in the area to be more environmentally aware.

Located in the small town of Pleasant Hill, Tenn. -- population 563 -- the Pleasant Hill Community Church, UCC has 274 members. Established 126 years ago by missionary teachers of the American Missionary Association from Boston, Mass., the church provides education and theological learning activities for adults and children in the area.
Built in the late 1950s, the church building underwent renovations in 1995, adding a wing of classrooms, offices, restrooms, and a fellowship hall. The planned geothermal cooling and heating systems will serve both the new and old constructions.
