NGE Community Lending Program Recognized by Leading Energy Incentive Database

October 14, 2009

New Generation Energy (NGE) is proud to announce that its newly launched Community Lending Program (CLP) has been recognized and listed online by the Database of State Incentives for Renewables & Efficiency (DSIRE), the leading national provider of information on energy incentive programs.

Socially Responsible InvestingNGE’s programs are currently listed as the only local loan initiatives recognized by DSIRE for each of the states of New England. The database contains details on both components of the NGE
Community Lending Program- the Solar Program and the Food Service
Efficiency Program. To see the listings, just go to www.dsireusa.org and click on any New England state!

NGE Executive Director Chuck Lewin comments, “Support from national resources such as DSIRE are an increasingly important part of connecting nonprofit service providers such as NGE, who develop and finance clean energy projects, with small businesses and nonprofits that want to become more green and lower their energy costs.”

Reaching out to Communities

Being listed alongside the diverse state and local energy incentives and policies found on DSIRE has already brought NGE attention from media, business owners and individuals seeking to learn about better energy generation and use.

"The DSIRE website is the most widely used, comprehensive source of information about renewable energy programs in the U.S. It's an excellent resource for consumers and businesses alike - everyone I know in the industry has DSIRE in their list of favorites."

-Daniel Pike, of solar installer Astrum Solar

NGE believes that a fundamental problem with energy use today is that potential beneficiaries of renewable and efficiency technology are either not aware of the opportunity, or are unable to find financing. Being recognized by DSIRE helps NGE realize its goal of making both information and financing available to a much larger audience.

About DSIRE

DSIRE is a national clearinghouse of information on state and local programs and incentives for renewable energy and energy efficiency. According to the Interstate Renewable Energy Council, a joint administrator of the database, DSIRE “serves as the nation's most comprehensive, one-stop source of information on federal, state, local, and utility incentives and policies that promote renewable energy and energy efficiency.”

The U.S. Department of Energy funds the database, which contains information on over 2,000 renewable energy and energy efficiency programs nationwide. DSIRE’s website, www.dsireusa.org, is visited by over 200,000 unique users each month.
