To better serve its community, the Falmouth Service Center in Falmouth, Mass. is becoming more energy efficient: The center will install a 4.32 kW photovoltaic system on its roof, which will produce 5,748 kWh per year.
Over its lifetime, this project will save the service center more than $45,000 in energy costs -- money that the organization can use to provide food, clothing, housing, medical, and transportation assistance to families in need. The Falmouth Service Center's mission is to ease stress, reduce hunger, and improve the quality of life of its neighbors in needs. Struggling families from nearby towns visit the food pantry for food and clothing, and the center also provide housing, medical, and transportation assistance. Since 1983, the center has worked to increase self-sufficiency by helping build networks among clients, neighbors, and agencies.
